Australia’s leading multi-platform media company, Fairfax Media, was looking for an innovative way to improve their IT systems as part of their overarching strategy, Fairfax of the Future. As part of this program to transform Fairfax into a “digital first” media organization, the company wanted to give all of their Australian and New Zealand employees the tools for better collaboration, coordination and document sharing. To facilitate this, Fairfax looked to the cloud— and specifically to Google Apps.
Fairfax chose to migrate to Google Apps with the help of Cloud Sherpas to ensure that they would realize the most benefit from Google’s cloud-based solution. This significant step in improving the how, when and where of working at Fairfax will begin with Google Apps collaborative, anywhere-access solutions. Gmail, Google Docs, Drive, Talk, Google+ Hangouts, Google Sites and Google Video for Business will be leveraged across the company to allow employees the flexibility to be productive anywhere from any device.
Fairfax’s pilot program with Google Apps was completed in June, and Cloud Sherpas will be supporting their enterprise-wide transition throughout the rest of the year. Read more about Fairfax’s move to the cloud on the Google Enterprise Blog.
